Grampa's Little Men

Wyatt and Genevieve are both getting pretty good at using the computer. There are many many age appropriate sites and activities for them. Unfortunately Wyatt wants to print out multitudes of his creations or characters from different shows. We have had to set a limit of one print out per day. So he impatiently waits until he can print out his daily page.

Har had to reconnect the printer for Wyatt so I was able to get this photo of them taking the printed page off of the printer.

Grampa has a way with his littlest man. Wyatt is still so in love with the little guy too!

Flower Girls

I got to take these two to the mall today with Courtney. It was fun. I need to get going on making the flower girl dresses they are going to be wearing for Courtney's wedding. Now that I have a sewing machine of my own again. I think I can do it.

First things I sewed on the new machine

I have a goal of having a stack of these scrappy quilts in the linen closet for grandkids to use when they stay the night. These guys could hardly contain themselves as I cut, assembled and sewed these last night and today. I think they turned out so cute!

I couldn't leave Garrett out. He sleeps under the one I made him before he was born. It is also pretty cute.

Wedding sewing is going to have to become a priority pretty soon but I think I can squeeze in a few more of these quilts just to make sure that Rowan, Katie and Henry aren't left without one should they all be here at the same time. :)

Cameron's birthday! He is TWELVE!!!

Birthday Breakfast

In keeping with tradition... Har and I took the birthday kid out to eat. It is normally just whoever is having a birthday and us but this week we had a little stow away with us.

Garrett brought his own breakfast and was a perfect gentlebaby.

Cam's breakfast was a beautiful thing! Just out of the shot to the left is a second biscuit. He is a growing boy but even he couldn't finish it.

Mini hike up to the bridge

Cam had never gone up to the bridge so he and Har hiked up there while I waited back with Garrett to take their picture.

Just below the railing where we were standing was a meadow with beautiful yellow flowers and ferns!

A visit from the Godfather

Tom and Kim Z are Cam's godparents. I'm glad they were able to come over for dessert and presents to celebrate with us. Tom met Garrett for the first time and their grand-daughter Bella wanted to "pat him".

None of our kids are super cake fans. Pie was requested and Cam chose the re-lighting candles to trick the little kids. They re-lit many many times!

Presents

Cam's wish list was super short and wasn't something that could be gotten right now. So with some deal making with his dad he will be getting his CPU upgrade but in the mean time.... he got some cool new clothes, several books, a gift card, $$ and a cell phone! Our little boy is growing up!

Playing away some energy

Warm enough for the "Water Park"

We had our first warm day in quite a while yesterday and I told the kids if it got to be close to 80 degrees I'd take them over to the park. The new playground is open but I like the tried and true equipment that they left in place. The tire swing is a fav!

Wyatt and Genevieve are pretty evenly matched for being on the teeter-totter. I wish the photo of G'vieve on the swing turned out clearer... but what is clear is her total joy in the experience. She would lay on her tummy and fling out her arms and legs and exclaim "I'M AN ANGEL!"

The Main Event

The water feature has been the big draw for the kids in the past couple of summers. Wyatt was the one I could hardly get to leave it. The girls were more drawn to the playground part.

It was quite busy and these guys have no fear of being out there on their own. It was like herding cats to keep track of the 3 of them. I stayed between the two areas but I had my back to at least one of them at all times. I'm bringing a helper next time.

NEW and FUN

The new play equipment is unique. The double circle thing that Danika is on spins as well as the curly-q thing that Wyatt is on.

There is a big spider web type rope thing and those rings beyond it are anchored on the top and bottom and kids crawl through them. The slide has no sides except a somewhat thicker edge than middle. It looks like a big tongue. Kids are supposed to straddle it with their legs hanging off of the sides. It's not toddler friendly.

Long Shadows

It was getting late and we had to get home for supper and pajamas. Again... I wish this picture turned out better. It does show a bit of their personalities though and it is a captured memory for me. That is pretty much what this blog is turning out to be. A memory book. I'd like to figure out a way of printing each entry and putting them in a scrapbook. I think it would be nice to look back on.

I'm going to miss this boy, his "raspberries" and his cuteness. Henry and Cherise went home after spending an extra week with us. Can't wait to go and see them at their place!

G's on Holiday

Logan, Alyssa, Rowan and Katie took off this morning as well. They are headed south first to Gremmy and Goddy's in Sisters and then on a road trip adventure to Wyoming and Colorado!

Would love to be road tripping along with them. Perhaps someday we can do the trek to Michigan to see that Muumuu that lives there.

Phone visiting

J & J got to talk to all 4 of theirs the other night. Garrett wasn't as into it as the others.

Aunties can sometimes take the place of jungle gyms

Krystle is a great one for watching movies with the kids. However sometimes they like to pile up on her. She is a good sport about it.

Bible Study Tuesday

As I've mentioned before I was blessed to be invited to start attending a Bible Study on Tuesday evenings.

The ladies there have welcomed Mr Garrett was well, with open arms!

A little one on one pampering

I surprised Genevieve by going through a Starbucks drive-through and ordering her a treat. She loves doughnuts and they have some there that are the perfect size for kids. The bonus was that it also matched her outfit. Pretty in Pink!

The Kids

Charlie came over and helped play with the kids. They took Danika shopping at the Lloyd Center. We stopped for McD's ice cream on our way to bring him home.

I had Garrett doing a little tummy time on the couch before I put him in his cradle for the night. He folder his hands so sweetly. He is such a good baby.

We are blessed.

Koreana Restaurant in Beaverton

Rylan chose the restaurant that he wanted to go to for his birthday. In lieu of a larger party with extended family and friends, he wanted to have just his siblings go out to dinner to celebrate his 30th birthday.

Korean Cuisine in Pictures

Here is a small depiction of the food. It was a new experience for some and an enjoyable meal for those who knew what they were ordering.

Thirty years old!

It's hard to believe that we have a 30 year old. I don't know how old I feel but it's pretty close to that age most days. Others I feel absolutely ancient.

This picture pretty much sums up Ry. He is often found carrying some sort of beverage (never coffee!) and a bag with a purchase from a book store or grocery store over his arm.

He is planning on going back to Korea. Wish he would change his mind about that but he has academic goals to accomplish. He will get his PHD one of these years and we will have another Dr Hilman... or in Ry's case it may be Professor Hilman :)
