Chips, prettiness, and weekend doings

Chip off the old block
Rowan's dad is a magazine reading kind of guy. Grampa Harlan is a magazine reading kind of guy. Great-grandpa Ray was a read anything kind of guy. Rowan was waiting for everybody to get ready to go to the zoo, so he picked up this ad and started looking at it. He stood there and turned pages and just was so interested in it. That boy is soooo cute!
"Chipette"
If Rowan is like Logan, Miss Katie is like her mom.
Alyssa got to do her nails and she did Katie's toenails too. So little and sweet!

Off to Meet the Fleet
Krystle's friend, Amanda, got several tickets to a special "Meet the Fleet" dance that is part of the Rose Festival activities here in Portland. Krystle's friend Sarah was able to go too. It was a "No Jeans" affair.
They offered "make overs" as one of the activities. Krystle, Amanda, and Sarah all had their hair done. So pretty!

Saturday morning outing... joined by Courts

Sometimes on a Saturday morning we sneak out of the house and go for a walk and sometimes stop for coffee. This past Saturday, Courtney was up early and asked to go with us. Of course we both had our cameras with us. I like the reflection in the window. It was a beautiful sunny morning and we were sitting on the lower level of the mall in a puddle of sunlight.
Happy Birthday Logan!
Logan was last of the sons-in-law that needed a rag quilt. I managed to make one that is very "him". The center square is from a t-shirt that Alyssa gave me. It says:
"Ninjas and Pirates Do not get along"
I sent the quilt up with Lyssa, Rowan and Katie when they left on Friday. Logan opened it on Saturday because it was officially his birthday in New Zealand at the time. He liked it very much and says he will be taking it with him when he goes out of town on business. I hope he takes the love and prayers that went into the making of it with him too.

Mowing Day
I don't know if you can tell from the picture but... a month of not mowing was not a great idea. We didn't have enough dry weather or when we did have a dry spot we had other things going so it was in desperate need of attention.
I got to do it this time since our boys have been busy finishing up their school year.
It looks so much better!

:D This post makes me smile.

Thank you for Logan's quilt. I've never thought of making a quilt for him to take with him. It makes me really happy to think of him with something from home that's cozy and fun.

Two thumbs way up :D

P.S. I'm jealous of Courtney. Looks like a really nice spot to eat breakfast.
