Seems like Yesterday...
... but it wasn't. Thirty-one years ago our first child was born.
Happy Birthday Rylan Earl boy!
We wish for each of our children the ability to dream, the courage to follow their dreams, and the strength to live out those dreams. Rylan has achieved a lot of his dreams but there are still more to reach for. WISH BIG this year!
Friday PIZZA Run
Friday's weather was glorious. We also had Courtney and Charlie joining us for Pizza Night along with the Reardons. We had the top down on the convertible earlier so I gave Courtney her first "topless" ride :0)
Flung the pies in the back and home we went.
Zoo concert with Hayden
Hayden and I have been looking forward to this concert at the zoo since we bought the tickets in May. We arrived at the zoo 20 minutes after the doors opened to ticket holders. We stood in line for 40 minutes before the concert lawn opened. We set up our spot and had 2 hours to wait for the first act and 3 hours until Brandi Carlile took the stage. It was well worth the wait!!!
We had pretty decent seats. Not as intimate a setting as Mississippi Studios was but this wasn't an exclusively 21 and older venue either.
Brandi and her band put on an amazing show. I hope to get to see her again when she is in town. Hopefully someplace with reserved seating so my hubby will attend as well.
When life gives you BERRIES
Make something delicious!
Bought a 10# box of berries this week. They were super tasty.
Made some of Mom's incredible blueberry bar. Recipe is in the Family Reunion cookbook.
Threw some in the slaw. With the poppy seed dressing they added just the right flavor!
Happy Birthday Rylan!
Once again it was time for a one-on-two meal outing for the birthday kid, Har and me. We had our little stow away there too. Ry was enjoying entertaining the lad while we waited for our breakfasts.
Garrett wasn't sure if Rylan was trying to trick him with the "pull my finger" routine or what. He likes his aunts and uncles a lot.
Classic Beauties
I photographed these and turned one of them to sepia tones to look like an old photo. We saw two of them drive in and park the rest of them were already there. I wished I got a picture of Rylan standing by them. He always reminds me of his grandfather's era men. The ones that wore suits and ties to sporting events. It was a treat to see this group of cars from a car club from Idaho in Wilsonville, OR.
Getting sleepy
Garrett and I waited in the car while the guys went into Frys. We needed to get a present for Ry and figured he would be the best one to let us know what he could use. Har and he came back with some speakers for his computer. He has been running his desk top through an old boom box from the early nineties.
Pretty in purple
The girls got to go for a couple hour visit with their mom. Grampa was combing their bobs as he has a softer touch with them. Danika always informs people that they "aren't twins"! They may not be but they sure look like sisters.
So we've officially kicked off Birthday Season around here. I'll try to update as Cam, Hayden, Henry and Danika have their celebrations.

Well, seems like Rylan had a good birthday then. And seems like you and Hayden had a fin concert. You sat in a very different sort of spot than Kiel and I last year, but that's ok. We had a small boy with us who needed to walk around a bit.
