May flowers continue
Just as my Mother's Day flowers from Courtney were fading, Joylynn showed up with this bouquet! It adds so much brightness to the dining room and that is especially appreciated since the skies have been pretty grey lately.
We went to a function at the school
Working out wiggles
The food line went right by the flag pole. Of course there was an attempt to climb it and check out all of the rigging that is there to put the flag up and take it down every day.
The supper was Subway sandwich slices and Kettle Chips. Good picnic fare.
The playing field was the first stop
Danika was content to run around with a jump rope. She managed to jump a few times but enjoyed swinging it and dancing with it more.
Mr Hoola Hoop
Wyatt was a hoola-hoop master... doing it on his neck. On his waist... he needs a little more work.
Genevieve's try
I don't think the Kindergarten PE class has been introduced to hoola-hoops. After trying to do it on her waist, G'vieve was successful with swinging them on her arm.
Playground equipment
The girls spent quite a bit of time on the monkey bars, the climbing wall, slides, fire pole and bridge. It is a nice play structure. I was amazed at Danika's concentration getting across to the other end of these bars. She doesn't have the arm length to swing from one to the other but can work her way from one end to the other along the side rail. Genevieve is an old pro at swinging back and forth.
One of the featured activities
The kids were able to make instruments. They each chose a different one. I don't know if the guys manning this activity were from the School of Modern Music or just parent volunteers but they were patient and helpful with the students.
Krystle was hoping that Wyatt would be more interested than he was in the martial arts instruction. They had an instructor talking about various forms and students that were able to give demonstrations.
Root beer floats!
We enjoyed a yummy dessert after all that play.
But it wasn't over!
While finishing up our floats I saw that they had brought out a parachute. For some reason, playing with a parachute in PE was one of my favorite things as a kid. It was so fun! All three kids were able to find a spot on the circle and they took part in various games.
Same setting as the first day of school
This is the exact bench on which Wyatt and Genevieve sat for a picture on their first day of school. It's been a pretty good year.
Staying home with Coco
I opted not to take Garrett to the school. Courtney volunteered to keep him at the house. It was best for everyone.
The school year is winding down. It won't be long before it's swimming pool and popsicle season. I'm looking forward to sunshine and squirrely kids at home all day. I've already bought them some things to occupy their time. But I could use more ideas.
