It's official
Danika is registered as a Kindergartener at the same school as Wyatt and Genevieve! They will all get dropped off in the morning and then Danika will be picked up before lunchtime. We have the option of paying for her to stay there for the full day but it's not in our budget at this time.
Genevieve's picture (L) of her first time to the school taken last year and Danika's first visit this morning (R). Genevieve is standing on the footprints on the floor and Danika is comparing handprints on the mural.
This brings back memories
This kite and balloon logo was designed by Tinker Hatfield back when Rylan, Joylynn, Cherise, Alyssa and Krystle were students there. It was printed on colorful t-shirts with just black or white ink. I don't know who commissioned it to be done in stained glass but this gorgeous work is hung between the second and third floors above the main entrance to the school.
Promised play time
I told Danika that I'd let her play out on the playground if she endured my filling out tons of paperwork to get her signed up for school. She was playing by herself when one of the Sun School classes came out for recess. She made a few friends on the tire swing. She even scooted over so the little guy who was pushing them could ride too.
Bros and a sister
I called Courtney to see if she would bring the other kids up to the school. They walked up. The boys got to share a tire swing and Genevieve got to visit and run around with her friend Ian from her Kindergarten class. I hope she and Wyatt get to have some friends in their new classes when school starts.
Bike racks
I don't know what it is about an empty set of bike racks but kids treat them like part of the playground. These bike racks are just Garrett's size. He can actually hang on them with his feet off the ground. He's getting to be quite the monkey.
Just around the corner
Notice that 1st through 8th grade starts on Wednesday the 5th. Kindergarten kids attend only Friday of that week. I'm sure everyone will be situated by the following Monday.
Birthday present #1
Hayden got a package in the mail today. It was a zip up hoody from Logan and Alyssa. It also doubles as a souvenir of his trip out there last month.
He's got his Keweenaw one and now this one.
I think he's set for looking collegiate for the start of classes.
Let the 18th birthday festivities begin!

I think it's pretty special that those 3 get to go to their Mom's school. I remember that stained glass window, it's a good one! Now they're gonna have to commission one of the tickle bee!
