We celebrated Alyssa's day with...
A breakfast out with just her and us,
We took her to the Cadillac Cafe for their famous hazelnut french toast breakfast and hot apple cider. Cadillac always has a great atmosphere for special occasions with their holiday decorating and fresh floral arrangements. We sat in a booth for the first time. It was very private and perfect for a b-fast out for the three of us.
A little bit of shopping,
After we dropped Har back at work I dropped Alyssa at the mall to look around for a bit all by herself. If you have three busy kids 5 and under you realize how rare that alone time is!
I picked up the girls from our house and met Lyssa for some shopping and a snack there.
An early Thanksgiving dinner
What Alyssa requested for food was a traditional Thanksgiving meal as her birthday dinner. Jess and Joylynn came over and Courtney came home as soon as she got off of work. It was a tasty turkey dinner. And I'm looking forward to enjoying another one in a little over two weeks.
A cake with 27 candles,
Technically it was a pumpkin bar with twinkie snack cakes holding the candles but there were twenty-seven of them and they lit up the birthday girl's face beautifully.
And cards & presents!
Cherise and Kiel sent a package from San Diego for Rowan's and Alyssa's birthday. Rowie loooved his Legos and his new action figure t-shirt. Alyssa got the colorful cardigan she's modeling. We got her the turtleneck and the rainboots.
It was a special treat to be able to celebrate on her actual birthday here in the house she grew up in. We'll take any time we can with these grown kids and their little ones.
Birthdays, holidays and everydays too. Family means more as the years go by.
