Sloppy big flakes
Yesterday morning we got up to a wet morning with temps just about freezing. The girls were ready to go to school when they noticed clumps of snowflakes falling. They went out to see if they could catch some on their tongues. The camera didn't catch the snow falling as it literally was sloppy clumps of slush coming down too fast for my auto focus.
Thank God for sunny Fridays
Harlan gets off early on Fridays. He walked to work this morning because it would have been an icy commute by bike. I was able to swing by BPA, pick him up & bring him home to eat lunch in front of the TV watching Perry Mason.
Waiting at PCC
Hayden and Cam wanted to go for the ride to drop Wyatt, Genevieve and Danika off at home this afternoon. We had to pick up Hayden at PCC. We drove around the parking lot and found this awesome tree. The kids got out to explore the old gnarled trunk and massive branches, which were supported in a couple of spots with permanently set poles. I didn't see any sort of documentation to say how old this tree was but it has to be many decades at least.
Commuter crawl
Look at the parking lot on the top and bottom decks of the Fremont bridge. Every freeway in the area was at a virtual standstill this afternoon. I didn't hear any traffic reports as to why either. We got over the river on the top deck of this bridge and drove up NW Lovejoy to Cornell to get to the west side.
Sustenance to make it back to town
We stopped off at The Old Spaghetti Factory for an early supper & to wait for the traffic to clear a bit before we brought Cam to Youth Group for the evening.
Next time we'll stop for faster food as we ended up taking our complementary ice cream to go. Fortunately they had to-go containers but unfortunately not to-go spoons. It made for some creative cutlery choices once we got on the road.
"Who wants to use chopsticks?"

I got your text from OSF last night but I thought it came from the restaurant. I was soooo confused! I was going to text or call you about it but I got distracted by sickie kids and stuff... then I forgot... Looks like you had a good time :) (minus having to eat your ice cream with a stick or two)
P.S. that tree is really cool!!
