Beauty shop haircut
Genevieve loves when she get to go to a shop to get her hair cut. She's wanted to have short hair again for the summer. She got her wish!She looks like a pretty pixie.
A girly outing like this isn't complete without a stop at Starbucks for a treat.
She called her mom and dad when we got home. She was talking to her dad on the home phone and her mom on my cell phone. She was excited to share her new do.
Bug bites are a bummer
We notice a bite from some sort of insect on Genevieve's arm on Wednesday. It was a small patch that looked like eczema. But by yesterday, after school, it had changed to a swollen red hard and hot area. A phone call to her pediatrician had us heading to have it looked at by a medical professional.
Genevieve sometimes has problems with cuts and scrapes turning into a staff infection so we have to be careful to make sure that any break in the skin is taken seriously. She doesn't show any signs of infection this time and has a mere histamine reaction. But look at those knees! It isn't even summer vacation and this girl has battle scars from playing hard.
I love the artistic touches in the hallway of Randall Children's Hospital. This quilt is framed and displayed just down from the main waiting area. Genevieve decided that the dark haired girl in purple is her and the lighter haired girl in pink and green is Danika. 
The 1st graders honor
the women in their lives
The first grade classes put on a program for the moms, grandmothers and other special women this afternoon. Genevieve was in the first group on stage. These 4 sang a song called "I Love Mother" to the tune of Frere Jacque.
The kids made gifts for the moms including a beautiful matted original art project.
G'vieve is such a sweetie and it was fun for her to have both her mom and me there.

Genevieve's hair is so cute :) Is there purple in it? It looks like a streak of color there...
There is purple in it. Danika has a purple and a pink patch and wants "rainbow" hair for the summer!
