A first glimpse of the roses and clematis
As soon as I got to Cherise's place I walked around and took in the breathtaking beauty of her flowers. Being this is the first spring in their new place, everything is new to her too. As she sees what is growing and blossoming she can figure out what else she wants to add to those flower beds.
Opening my eyes to this
This is the first thing I saw as I woke up on Saturday morning. I love birch trees! Cherise and family have several in their yard. This lovely one is just outside of window of the room we sleep in. Its leaves rustle so softly in the breeze.

Patio planters are readied
Kiel and Cherise had willing and excited helpers while planting some vegetables and herbs.
Quinn didn't offer too much advice but was enjoying the time outside in the shade.
This year it'll be pots on the deck next year perhaps a larger garden. With this being year one for cherries and with a new baby, I think harvesting fresh veggies a few steps from the kitchen is a great idea!
Someone is small but persuasive ;0)
Anabelle is a pint sized princess with a big personality. She's got some pretty loyal subjects in those uncles of hers.
Spending an evening on the deck
We sat out until past dusk enjoying the quiet around a campfire in their weber. I enjoyed a s'more for the first time in a long, long time.
We stayed out there until the sky started getting dark and the stars started shining.
One more day with these sweet kids
Quinn is my Major Hunk! He's a getting to be a roller and mover too according to his mother.
Henry and Anabelle took turns on the swing in their side yard.
Whispering Pines
I may hear cottonwoods whispering but Harlan is transported to childhood by the sound of wind through a ponderosa pine. He actually walked around the property listening to the wind in the trees. It was determined that the sound of the pine was the most soothing.
A girl and her chickens
Anabelle was in on the first purchase of chicks this spring. They grew up to be the large red chickens. The black and white ones arrived a few weeks later. They all now have a cozy coop and fenced yard to cluck and scratch around in.
The plan was to raise laying hens. When they do start laying eggs, which should be fairly soon, those girls will have to be ambitious and get busy to fill the stack of cartons waiting for them.
Bellie had a great day helping and following two grandpas around while they worked on some irrigation problems with Kiel. I'm glad that she didn't decide to go directly from playing in the water to playing in the dirt. She had a great time doing both. She went from being a dust bunny straight to take a shower.
It's going to be a busy place pretty soon as the harvesting of these beauties begins.
I'm hoping for ideal conditions for picking and a bumper crop of cherries :0)

*sigh* ah, the cherry farm. A place of crazy cute kids and enjoying the lovely breeze, trees, and sun eastern Washington offers. I would love to be out there with Dad listening to the wind. We've been enjoying our own breezes back east here. It's not quite the same when they don't have rolling grassy hills and plains to sweep across before they get to you though ;)
