Heading out of town with a couple of stops.
Breakfast at Henry's? Nope Shari's
It is never easy to leave but seems easier to leave the kids if we do so from a public place. So for the last couple of times we've been there we went out for a meal and drove off from there. This time we wanted to check out a restaurant called Henry's in West Richland. They were closed for Memorial Day, which is cool, but made us detour to Shari's. Our Henry didn't mind too much as he was riding in our van with us and had his music plugged in to our stereo. Fun little dude! He and Anabelle had happy cakes with bacon. Guess what they ate first? Hint: it required a spoon.
Our stop in the golden-gate to the Evergreen State
I got a better picture of the sign this time!
As sad as it is to leave Tri-cities it's nice to see those other two "home" towns on the road sign.
When we finally arrive in Goldendale, Naomi had a beautiful spread set out for our noon meal. I wish I had photos of the perfect place settings and yummy food.
Here are a few pictures of the lovely people sitting around and visiting afterward ;0)
We couldn't leave Shari's that morning without buying one of their pies to go.
It was a nice finish to Naomi's lovely luncheon.
The ultimate treat
I dream of this place when I'm at home. Harlan and I got to take a wonderfully relaxing sauna while our boys did a walking tour of the town. I appreciate that Mike and Naomi have created such a spa-like atmosphere in their sauna. It is AMAZING!
Naomi loves flowers like I do. She always has the prettiest planter pots. She has a few lilacs in the back yard that were starts from her mom's bushes. So pretty!
Many thanks for your hospitality
We took turns taking pictures on the porch. Nome and Mike with Hayden and Cameron and then with Har and me. This is the Keurig in out kitchen. We've wanted one since the last time we stopped in Goldendale. I picked one up and gave it to Har for his birthday this year. It is used more than any other appliance in our house. We love it! Thanks for introducing us to that magical machine.
We pause to remember
Thank you Naomi for sending this photo of your visit to the cemetery.
Mom and Dad almost always took us to the various cemeteries in the Copper Country on Memorial Day. I appreciate that they instilled the value of honoring those who have passed on. Those loved ones truly are never far from our hearts and we remember them today.

Those cherry kids sure picked a good spot to live eh? A visit with loved ones and a good sauna seem like just the thing for coming down off the grandkid high ;) I love those lilacs. We have a pink one in front of our house too!
