A Happy Birthday kind of day

Our Cameron turned 16!

The moon and rainbow light pictures don't really have anything to do with Cameron's birthday other than the fact that I took that picture on the eve of his birthday with my camera and I thought it turned out pretty great. The photo of Quinn's little feet in the rainbow of light refracting through our fish tank was taken in the early morning on Cam's birthday.  A promise of a sunshiny day :0)
Breakfast and a new do

One of the new favorite things at Grampa and Gramma's is the Keurig to make hot chocolate. Henry and Anabelle share a cup with plenty of milk to cool it down.
The boys got to stay with me while Cherise and Anabelle had hair appointments. Anabelle had her bangs trimmed by me once and they had totally grown out. It was time for a shorter haircut for her and a trim for her mom.

Cute! Cute! Cute!
Henry got to play a bit on Grampa's keyboard before we headed out to…
OAKS PARK
When I asked Cam what he wanted to do for his birthday he said he wanted to go to Oaks Park. I asked  if he wanted to invite some friends along and he said he wanted the family to go with him. So we did! Joylynn and her kids, Cherise and hers, Krystle, Hayden and me.

When Joylynn's gang arrived I took some more pictures of the cutouts.  Danika and Henry represented the grandkids with August birthdays.

Everyone stopped for a bite to eat.
After lunch they got to go on a few more rides.

I had the birthday boy pose for pictures with six of his nieces and nephews that were big enough to ride  on the rides with him.
And with his siblings that got to be there.

We had to say goodbye to Joylynn and the kids and head home with the rest.
Time for presents & then out to dinner
 with Mom and Dad

Cam got some school clothes and new shoes from us and a set of wheels from his brother.
I'm looking forward to not having to run him to school every morning this fall.
Birthday kid's choice

As I've mentioned before, the birthday person gets to pick a meal and a restaurant to have a one-on-two time with Har and me.

Cam introduced us to a place called Kale "ultimate Japanese comfort food"

Comfort food is right! According to the website people in Japan eat these dishes 84 times a year. It is super yummy!
And finally he is officially SIXTEEN
In Henry's world a birthday isn't complete until the candles are blown out. Cam's not much of a cake or sweets guy for that matter so his candles are snugged into a slice of left over angle food cake surrounded by yummy fruit pastries.
Happy SWEET Sixteen Cameron :0)
