This looks just like Ry when he was about seven… twenty-seven years ago!

 Happy Birthday Uncle Rylan

 I had three kitchen helpers making waffles on Ry's birthday.

 Danika measured all of the dry ingredients.

 Genevieve broke and beat the eggs.

 Garrett was incredibly good at pouring in the liquid ingredients and taking the first turn at mixing.

Genevieve and Danika each took a turn with mixing too. Only Garrett hung around to man the waffle maker.

 So he go the first one but there were plenty where that came from and everyone enjoyed the fruits of their labors.

Birthday Lunch

 Marinepolis aka as Sushiland is one of Rylan's favorite restaurants. It's not too far from Harlan's work so he joined us but had to get back before I thought to take a picture of the three of us.

Party at the house with the rest of the gang

When we got home Krystle had all of the presents wrapped and all I had to do was slice the traditional watermelon.

We sang and Rylan opened presents. Garrett gave him a special badge with Jake from the Neverland Pirates on it. Uncle Ry put it on his belt which made Gar-bear pretty pleased.

It was a small little family party but that suited Ry just fine.

It's just the start of the birthday month around here. Cameron turns sixteen on the 7th, Hayden and Henry share the 17th with my sister Kara the will be twenty, five and thirty-six respectively, Danika's seventh birthday is on the 29th and I hope to get to see Lalita's Simon around the time he turns 7 on the 21st. It's appropriate that our first born started this whole family birthday season on August 1st!
