Seven and gonna party

Genevieve! It's Your Day!
In these days of helium shortages I picked up an air-filled balloon on a stick to put with the flowers we got for the birthday girl. Look how many candles are on the cake. Pretty cool and very appropriate.

It was like the Birthday Fairy had come during the night. She was so cute showing me the flowers that had shown up on the buffet. Because it was a school day she couldn't get breakfast in bed like her sister but I tried to make sure she had something special. A muffin, fruit and sparkling apple cider. She said, "Drinking sparking cider makes you sparkle inside."
She sparkles inside without cider.

Gramma and Aunty Coco's breakfast
Someone at the MLK and Weidler Starbucks enjoys their job. This isn't the first time I've had a creative touch on my pastry bag from there. My bacon, egg and gouda sandwich and Courtney's egg and ham were given a festive touch.

Running a few errands
Joylynn hopped in the car and we went to pick up a few things from Rite Aid.

Garrett was getting dropped off early for his weekend at home. Courtney took him outside of the store and he sat and waited on the racks. He looked like he could have been a Rite Aid team member with that red sweater and cream colored khakis.

 Cake for the party
It was a treat for the kids to go home on a Thursday. A double treat for Genevieve in that she was going to be able to be celebrating her birthday with her family and neighbors.
Joylynn got this chocolate cake with raspberry filling personalized for her birthday princess.

Family Tree
I like the way the kids put up their name plaques. It looks like a tree!
That family tree started 10 years ago today!

Happy Anniversary Jess and Joylynn!
God bless you both on your anniversary today.
May He continue to guard and guide you and your family.
Love you guys!

Happy to be hanging out at home

Har and I brought the 3 "big" kids home and left Genevieve playing with some of her new toys, Garrett was just chilling out watching her, Danika was heading for the back yard and Wyatt was playing outside with a couple of the neighbor boys.
Fun-fun-fun!
Freeway backup had us take the scenic route

Harlan used to drive this route to and from Intel when he worked in Hillsboro. Cornelius Pass Rd to Skyline to Newberry Rd and down to Hwy 30. Then across the St Johns Bridge and then along Willamette Blvd on the bluff toward home. Maybe it was the problems with whatever had the freeway into the city stopped or perhaps more people know about this route, but Harlan said that there seemed to be a lot more traffic on these roads than he'd ever seen before.  It sure was a pretty drive though.
Even 15th Ave was backed up!
This picture was taken looking south toward Lloyd Center from in front of our house. We are two blocks from the light on Fremont and the traffic was backed up several cars beyond Siskiyou.
Can't wait to see what sort of traffic problems the first rains are going to cause.
I'm thankful for a cozy home and big windows so I can observe without partaking.
