Portland you are beautiful

Packing up and heading out

We managed to get all of our clothes and other paraphernalia plus a bunch of souvenirs into our one checked bag and one carry on.

Our 4 wheel drive suitcase is terrific for maneuvering in wide empty halls and in crowded airport security lines.  The Las Vegas airport is pretty crazy. We got there almost 3 hours before departure and we only had 40 minutes to spare. But it was there that...

We found Coca Cola!

We hadn't had time for breakfast so at 10:30 we were having lunch at a burger place called Rubies. They are all about the Coca Cola. A very refreshing beverage indeed!
 The burgers weren't bad either.
We were booked on the same flight back home but were 10 rows away from each other in seat assignments.  I mentioned it to the flight attendant and my seat mate volunteered to go back and take Har's window seat so we could sit together.
Thank you fellow traveler!

Back in Portland!
We purposely did not ask for someone to pick us up from the airport.  We made this vacation last as long as possible. We sat at the airport and enjoyed some delicious Coffee People coffee and a shared raspberry pecan scone.  I sure miss those things.

We then determined that we didn't want anyone trying to head out to the airport this close to rush hour so we headed for the MAX platform. On the way there we saw the sign showing us where to go.  Only in Portland do we also find that people apparently fly into PDX with unassembled bicycles. I'm really not surprised. I was surprised to find that the MAX train has been traveling out to the airport for 10 years already! Where has the time gone?

Happy to be with familiar trees

We walked over to the mall to wait for our ride. Har snapped a picture of me in Holiday Park and I took one of him outside of Sears.

Joylynn was our chauffeur

Joylynn came to pick us up and took us home to be greeted by this enthusiastic Welcome Wagon.
Wyatt's hair looks super blonde in this picture.  It isn't in real life.
It was good to be home.

A night out on the town
Half of our kids hopped in the van and we took it for a spin.  Best Buy was the first stop.  Hayden has been saving up for some new headphones.  He found an ideal pair.

Next stop Burgerville where we bonded over dessert and technical gadgetry.
 Krystle wasn't left out
We brought a fresh strawberry shortcake home to Krystle. She stayed home snuggled up in her new souvenir blanket. An replica of the blankets on the berths that the 3rd class passengers of the Titanic enjoyed.
Hearing about our trip through the Titanic exhibit there at the Luxor, she wants more than ever to go there herself. She has a few years to get there.  It will be on display through 2018.
Keep dreaming and planning, Krystle!
