Missing school two days in a row

Jr Rose Festival Parade
Wyatt's class got to march in the Jr Rose Festival Parade on Wednesday. I had to pick him up at Grant High School, the disbanding area. This adorable little dachshund reminded me of our Barney, the dog we had growing up.
For most of the route Wyatt carried the Bonjour sign but swapped it for a noisy shaker just before the end. He was right up in front behind the Sabin School banner.

He was so hot after walking all that way, poor guy. He was pretty excited to see the swimming pool was being filled there at the high school.
He took a short break for water and then we hiked the rest of the way to the van. I had to park probably close to a 1/4 mile away because parade day is pretty crazy around there!

I took him to Starbucks for a snack before we picked up his sisters and some Portland Police officers were there and gave him a Jr. Crime Fighter sticker for him and one to give to Garrett :)
"Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters.... Caring, sharing, every little thing that we are wearing..." It is such a blessing to get a ton of hand-me downs from sisters at their church that love to dress alike.

Sleep over for the Gar-bear

It was reading time for the kids to unwind before sleep.
Garrett and the girls lined up like cordwood on their bed. He kept saying, "I tan't sleep!"

I guess that wasn't true. Was it :P
The official check up

Whether Garrett was ready or not, they were prepared for him at Hollywood Children's Dentist. The staff there is so geared to kids that are anxious, not in the good way, about their appointments. Garrett was not too excited.

In six months when he needs his next check-up he'll be fine as he now knows what's what. Those prize drawers might be a bigger deal then too.

The dentist's personal office has the chair that she does the exams in. There the boys found these puppets and the huge dental mirrors. Garrett cracked me up checking his own teeth.
A rose across from Sabin
Wyatt was dropped off back at the school to finish out the rest of his day.
School will be out before we know it!
