Grandkids' house

Sunday selection? The "duck" Shari's!

Shari's was one of our favorite places to take the kids when they were little. We sometimes used a description of the restaurant rather than saying the location. We went to the "Duck Shari's" yesterday. This one down in Milwaukee has a pond of some sort next to it so there are always water fowl and sometimes nutria down there.
We had our 4 youngest with us for the day. Poor Cam can't get away from clingy sisters. At least not  for photo ops. He doesn't seem to mind terribly though.

Our two blonde haired blue eyed kids.  Both had initials of CPH until Courtney went and got married.

Serenity next to the highway
It's so relaxing watching birds swim.  Every now and then one of them would fly off or another would land. You sure don't have to travel far to experience the wonder of nature.
At the top of the hill just beyond these trees Hwy 224 heads west to downtown Portland or east to Estacada. Last Sunday Courtney took that highway out to visit Charlie. He's had to stay close to camp these days and has been out fighting a couple of forest fires already.
I hope fire season isn't too long. Courtney is not a happy camper when Charles can't come home on weekends.

"Gramma's House" house
The grandkids have a new play house here. I made Cam crawl into it to see if he fit before the kids came back and started playing with it. He's just a tad too large, but the little ones fit nicely and have not stopped playing it in, except to sleep and eat, since they got here last evening.

It doesn't have many features. A half door and half walls on 3 sides, a window with shutters on the back, one shelf, a mailbox, and a doorbell.

It's already been draped with blankets to make a cabin and last night it was loaded with books to become a library with Danika as the librarian.
It's easily moved around and pretty sturdy.
I'd say it was a good investment based on the use it's already seen.
We have 5 more grandkids to try it out.
New energy drink

Cam doesn't drink brewed coffee.  He doesn't like the taste.  It is an acquired taste and a few of our kids have not acquired the taste for it.  Rylan is a green tea or steamed eggnog (in season) kinda guy. Krystle is a tea or hot chocolate girl. Cam likes fruit flavored beverages and smoothies. Starbucks new "Refreshers" beverages have become a favorite when we go out for coffee. The barista taking my order wanted to inform me that the beverage I was buying for Cam contained caffeine.
Yes. Yes it did.

Such a cool house! I love that it isn't loaded with bells and whistles. More room for imagination! :) i was just thinking how I kinda wish that all the grands could be there together but then I remembered the picture of cam in it and now I think seeing it just some at a time is probably okay too ;)
